Julie Morris, Partner and Principal in Morris Cooper , a newly formed design company, has been immersed in the business of making homes come alive for more than 23 years and all under cover.  She has a solid business with long term clients who seek her skills on everything from new home design to major renovations and every last detail in between.  A full service residential design firm, Morris Cooper handles all aspects of home design including floor plans, development permits, electrical plans, finishing specs, furnishing and final decor.  The company works with the crème de la crème of Calgary’s architectural technologists, cabinet makers, kitchen and bath specialists, builders and trades to ensure exceptional quality and value.  Julie and the Morris Cooper team, start by listening and understanding how their clients live, what defines comfort for them, and  their vision for the home. Julie Morris never set out to be one of Calgary's premier go-to interior designers - that's just the way it worked out. Julie Morris has amassed a dazzling portfolio of design triumphs. What's surprising is that Morris has been able to do so much under a veil of great anonymity. By continually changing up her game and tailoring each job to her client's needs, she's not leaving a recognizable trail. "Because we don't have a signature design style," Morris explains, "You can't walk into one of the homes we've done and say 'Oh, Julie Morris, or that is a Julie Morris design'". She contends people are much more likely to walk in and simply say, "I love the house." Morris declares this I'll-do-the-work-and-you-take-the-credit arrangement has "turned out well."

Many of the clients who work with Julie Morris tend to go back to them as they go from one project to another. Morris says she feels the same charge of excitement whether she is tackling a job with a $40,000 or one with a $400,000 price tag. Although Julie Morris doesn't build homes from the ground up, they are adept at overseeing large life-changing alterations. But through it all Morris contends what is never lost is the determination of who the work is for. You may see her signature on a contract but you'll not see it in the look of your very personal living space.
